frequently asked questions

How many treatments will I need?

With our state-of-the-art Quanta EVO Q Plus C machine, tattoo removal treatments range from 3 to 10 on average for complete removal. Patients with heavily faded or small tattoos typically only need up to 3 or 4.

Due to every patient and tattoo being different, this is just a general guideline. During your initial assessment, our laser technician will use the following factors to estimate the number of treatments needed to achieve your desired tattoo removal goals: age of tattoo, size of tattoo, location of tattoo, density of ink, depth of ink, quality of tattoo (professional or amateur), pre-existing scarring, and patient health.

How long before my tattoo is completely removed?

We schedule treatments at a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks apart.  This allows your skin to heal before the next laser tattoo removal treatment.  This waiting period is for your safety.  Receiving another treatment prematurely can increase side effects and pigment changes.

The time between treatments can fluctuate based on how quickly your skin heals.  Laser tattoo removal requires patience, but the results are worth it.

We have invested in the best tattoo removal laser on the market, the Quanta EVO Q Plus C, which eliminates more ink during the treatments.  This allows you to achieve your goals with the least amount of treatments possible.

Does the laser hurt?

Each patient has a different pain threshold so your pain level may vary.  The treatments are often described as a rubber band being snapped against the skin.  If you made it through getting a tattoo, you will have no problem getting it removed.

Laser tattoo removal treatments are fast!  Typically, each procedure lasts 1 to 20 minutes depending on the size of the tattoo.

To minimize the pain even more and alleviate any worry you may have, we use the Zimmer Cryo 5 cooling machine to numb the skin throughout the treatment.

Are there any side effects?

Laser tattoo removal is by far the most effective and safest way to remove your unwanted tattoo.  During the healing process, patients can experience minor side effects such as swelling, redness, scabbing, blistering, and pigmentation changes.  These side effects are signs that your body is healing and removing the ink from your skin.  Because of this we urge you from picking any scabs or popping blisters that may form.  Interrupting this healing process can cause infections, which can lead to more serious side effects.

The healing process and how well you take care of your treatment area is just as important as the procedure.  We will provide you will instruction for proper aftercare to help the area heal and become ink free.

How much does laser tattoo removal cost?

We offer the most affordable treatments starting at only $59. During your free initial consultation, we will assess your tattoo and come to a price that best fits within your budget.  We truly care about our patients and believe nothing should get in the way of your tattoo removal, including cost.  No matter your goal, our guarantee is that we will work you to find a pricing plan that meets your goals.

Can you remove just a portion of my tattoo?

Absolutely! Our Quanta EVO Q Plus C laser utilizes two flat top homogenized laser beams, one oval and one square.  This allows the laser to pinpoint target any area of your tattoo, leaving the surrounding ink unharmed.

Can you fade my tattoo for a cover-up?

Yes!  Not only is our laser great at removing tattoos, but it is the best solution for patients looking to get a cover-up.  When getting a cover-up, most tattoo artists need to use twice the amount of ink to conceal the existing tattoo, especially when they are heavy in black or dark inks.

For optimal fading, you may only need a few treatments.  This will give your tattoo artist a cleaner canvas to work with and allow for more flexibility with their design.

It is important to follow these instructions before your appointment to achieve the best results for your tattoo and skin:

We recommend wearing loose fitting clothes to your appointment in order to prevent them from rubbing against the treated area after a session.

Clean the treatment area

Patients with thick hair on the treated area are should also shave beforehand. If you plan on using a numbing cream or ointment, please let your laser technician know. Excess oils or ointments may take away from the success of your treatment.

what to do

after your treatment

Proper aftercare is just as important as your laser tattoo removal procedure.  Following these instructions will not only help to prevent any infection or unwanted side effects, but also play a major role in getting the results you are after.  Your skin will heal flawlessly as long as these aftercare tips are followed.

Keep the treated area dry and clean during the healing process.

Cleanse the area gently with soap and water, then pat to dry. Apply antibiotic ointment to the treatment area and cover with a sterile bandage. Repeat this step three days following a treatment.

Apply a moisturizer or ointment to alleviate any itchiness

We recommend using Neosporin, Aquaphor, or Vitamin E cream to alleviate any itchiness.

Take Tylenol

If you experience any discomfort or inflammation avoid taking Aspirin as it can increase chances of bleeding and bruising. If you experience any unusual discomfort or experience any abnormal side effects, please contact our office immediately.

Avoid meddling with any blisters or scabs that form

Doing so can lead to infection and increase your chances of permanent, unwanted damage to the skin. Scabs and blisters are common side effects and are signs that your body is healing. 24 hours after scabs or blisters go away, apply an antibiotic ointment and sterile bandage to the area.

Avoid water that may result in the soaking the treatment area

Showers may be taken as long as the treatment site is not directly under high-pressure water. Pools & other water activities should be avoided until all blisters and scabs are healed.

Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning

Sun exposure can increase the risk of pigmentation changes or discoloration of the skin. Wear appropriate clothing and apply sunblock (SPF 25+) to the treatment area once healed.
